Low Voltage Tech - Future Project Manager at Synerfac Technical Staffing

Our client in State College PA is looking for a Low Voltage Tech to grow into a Project Manager

General Duties & Installation:

- Install, configure, and program low-voltage systems including:
- Audio/Visual: Projectors, LED walls, displays, audio systems, control interfaces
- Structured Cabling: Cat6, fiber, coax, and speaker wiring
- Security Systems: IP/CCTV cameras, NVR/DVR setups, access control, mag locks, motion sensors, alarm panels
- Pull, terminate, label, and test all cabling types (Cat6, HDMI, speaker wire, fiber, coax, control).
- Build and mount AV racks, data enclosures, patch panels, and structured cabling pathways.
- Perform fiber termination and fusion splicing; terminate copper and coax connections.
- Program and calibrate AV and control systems (e.g., touch panels, lighting scenes).
- Mount and align cameras; configure recording and alert systems.
- Test, label, and verify all systems for functionality and performance.
- Blueprints, Safety, & Coordination
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and system specifications.
- Participate in coordination meetings with project managers, contractors, and other trades.
- Follow all safety procedures and maintain job site compliance.
- Client Interaction & Professionalism
- Communicate effectively with clients, project managers, and trades on site.
- Conduct end-of-day walk-throughs and provide basic user training.
- Maintain accurate documentation of configurations, wiring diagrams, and progress reports.
- Enter daily timecards and maintain clean, organized work areas.

Requirements:

- 2-4 years of experience installing AV, security, or low-voltage systems.
- Proficiency in cabling, termination, and system testing.
- Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings.
- Strong understanding of IP networking and signal flow.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Comfortable working on ladders, lifts, or scaffolding; able to lift 50 lbs.
- Valid driver"s license and willingness to travel to job sites as required.
- Professional communication, reliability, and teamwork are essential.
