Air Squared Manufacturing, Inc. is an OEM manufacturer of scroll type compressors, vacuum pumps and expanders for the medical, aerospace, fuel cell and power generation industries.  Air Squared offers exciting career opportunities working on projects including NASA MOXIE, Leading Electric and Autonomous Vehicle OEM, DOE Clean Energy initiatives ranging from nuclear fusion and the Advanced Research Projects Agency - Energy (ARPA-e), and other cutting-edge projects.  


We are looking for a Machine Shop Manager who will be responsible for scheduling, quality, and coordination of all labor and materials in the machine shop department.


Pay Range: $85,000 - $105,000 / year, based on qualifications and experience

Machine Shop Manager Job Responsibilities:

  • Manage all aspects of the machine shop
  • Manage machine shop personnel and monitor employee performance. Provide frequent constructive feedback to employees to encourage continued improvement 
  • Facilitate the training process of new machine shop employee with support from the Technical Manager. Ensure they are provided with all the necessary tools and training to do the job safely and effectively. 
  • Manage hiring, disciplinary action and terminations within the machine shop
  • Schedule machines and staff for maximum productivity
  • Coordinate all labor and materials in the machine shop
  • Assist and provide input with purchasing for items related to manufacturing
  • Administer company policies as necessary. Maintain open communication with Human Resources regarding application of these policies and any personnel issues within the department. 
  • Schedule training as needed
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Machine Shop Manager Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED (required), associate or bachelors degree (preferred)
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in personnel management (preferred) 
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in machine shop/manufacturing environment (required)
