Location: Carthage

Shift: Evening 5:30pm-Finish

Position starting wage is $18.50. Another $3.00 increase after 60 days!

Position Summary:

Must be mechanically inclined and able to take the machine apart and put it back together correctly. Provide mechanical support service in response to operational changes resulting from the malfunction, breakdown, relocation, replacement or other modification of existing mechanical systems and/or equipment.

Essential Duties, Functions and responsibilities:

Process product using tools and equipment provided

Follows all work safety policies and guidelines

Observes equipment operation, notifying appropriate personnel of any malfunctions and /or safety issues/concerns

Adheres to all USDA and GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) product standards and guidelines

Maintains a clean and organized area

Performs other duties as assigned

Accountable to maintain punctual and regular attendance for scheduled work hours

Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of equipment and performs scheduled maintenance repairs of equipment. Routine inspections of all temperature logs, ammonia detection alarms and general refrigeration operating systems

Inspects systems and report abnormalities on a regular basis

Maintain inventory control on parts and supplies for refrigeration systems

Supervise/direct all refrigeration contractor tasks

Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service

Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments

Perform regular preventive maintenance on equipment and plant facilities

Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment in performing duties

Detect faulty operations, defective material and report those and any unusual situations to proper supervision

Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas

Must be able to work shifts as assigned such as weekends, holidays and mandatory overtime

Perform all other duties as assigned or needed

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Able to lift 75 lbs.

Ability to work in a fast paced environment

Must have the ability to read and understand basic math function

Will be required to pass the lock out/tagout course

Ability to troubleshoot issues that occur on the machine

Ability to communicate effectively and follow verbal and written instructions

Must be willing and able to perform physical requirements of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.

Must be at least 18 years of age and legally authorized to work in the United States

Must pass a background check, drug screen

Must be able to read and write

Need to be familiar in SPC, HACCP, GMP’S SSOP’S and USDA

Be familiar with ISO process and procedures

Ability to read electrical and mechanical blue prints

Shift flexibility is needed and willing to work on call and weekends

Must wear approved safety shoes

Skill with machine shop tools is preferred

Ammonia refrigeration systems experience

Physical Requirements:

Frequent standing and walking (at least 8 hours per day)

Lifting, carrying, pushing or pulling (up to and including 50lbs or more)

Reaching overhead

Reaching below knees

Ability to multitask

Completing required paperwork in timely manner

Perform work in a refrigerated warehouse with temperatures ranging from -20 degrees Fahrenheit to 55 degrees Fahrenheit.

Perform work in a non-refrigerated warehouse with temperatures that range from 40 degrees Fahrenheit to 90+ degrees Fahrenheit.

Incumbent may use calculators, computers, telephone, and other office equipment in the course of normal workday

Must be able to lift 50 pounds

Stooping, squatting, walking, reaching, bending, twisting, lifting and reaching may be required in completion of job duties.

Use repetitive motions using upper and lower extremities, mount and dismount equipment on a continual basis.

Will be subject to working on mechanical and stationary working platforms in excess of 40 ft.

Working Conditions/Department Description:

Work in damp and cold environment as needed

Work with loud and noisy machinery as needed

Work in dusty environment when using spice as needed

Work in congested areas as needed

Work outside in all types of weather
