Job Summary
As the first point of contact with our Main Office, general phone line and company email, this role requires exceptional customer service along with an in-depth knowledge of the Resort and surrounding area. This role will be critical in ensuring a positive and enjoyable experience for guests making general inquiries prior to their visit, through to aiding other departments in converting inquiries into sales. This role will also assist employees making inquiries at the Main Office front counter, in collaboration with other HR team members. This person is responsible for providing knowledgeable and friendly information over the phone, via email and in person. A successful member of this team will understand and appreciate the opportunity to provide exceptional service to colleagues and guests, and work hard to consistently exceed customer, managerial and colleagues’ expectations.
Job Duties and Responsibilities

- Answer the main telephone line and manage company email account
- Effectively communicate with guests about resort services and conditions via phone and email
- Greet visitors to the Main Office at the front desk
- Provide accurate information pertaining to guest inquiries, and move the inquiry along to the relevant department for any relevant follow-up
- Create, source and share materials with new guests to prepare them for their first visit to the resort
- Assist guests with directions and other resort information
- Communicate with marketing, rentals, guest services, lesson sales and other departments to ensure information shared with guests is accurate
- Send out and review post-visit evaluations and share results with relevant department managers
- Assist HR with employee inquiries made at the Main Office
- Assist with responsible storage of forms and paperwork
- Other duties as assigned
Skills and Competencies
- Experience in customer service/sales/reservations
- Ability to communicate and listen in a professional and patient manner
- Ability to provide quality customer service and interact with guests and employees on a professional level
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, Outlook, website navigation and performance of key word searches
- Positive, flexible and enthusiastic attitude
- Excellent communication and listening skills

- Proven ability to work with a minimum of supervision, think quickly and take initiative to address problems in a creative manner that contributes to the team effort and guest experience
- Familiar with Bear Valley region and resort
Work Schedules
Weather, snow conditions and the number of guests play a large role in the work scheduling of Bear Valley employees. When conditions are normal, you may be expected to work 32 to 48 hours per week, including weekends and holidays. During busy periods – particularly the holiday periods – you may be expected to work six (6) days a week.
You must arrange for transportation to work so that you arrive at your designated workstation at the scheduled time. Keep in mind that you will often be required to drive on hilly, snowpacked, and icy roads.
Working Conditions
At any time during the ski season, Bear Valley employees are often required to perform their tasks in high winds, heavy snowfalls, low visibility, rain, and extremely cold or warm temperatures.
Uniforms
A professional appearance at Bear Valley is required. Please wear your name tag and uniform at all times during your scheduled shift. We will provide most of the uniform for you to do your job. This uniform is for work hours ONLY, no exceptions. The quality, color, and style of the items must be approved by your manager prior to being worn to work. All hats worn must have the Bear Valley logo while on shift.

The skiing/riding employee represents a model for safe skiing for both the guest and fellow employees. You are required to be aware of all safe skiing procedures, trail closures, and out-of-bounds policies of the mountain.
