Summary:

As a member of the maintenance team, you will perform preventive and reactive maintenance on manufacturing equipment and infrastructure throughout the facility. Your troubleshooting skills will be used daily to resolve machine and product issues. At Barrday, our maintenance personnel work closely with each other, our machine operators and engineers to help diagnose problems and to elevate the knowledge of the machine operators.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Diagnoses, installs, repairs, tests, and calibrate complex AC and DC electrical systems, such as motor-starting circuits, AC magnetic circuits, pilot device systems, pressure and limit switches, and solenoid valves.
  • Perform preventive and routine maintenance on all equipment.
  • Assist with training operators in maintenance tasks.
  • Assist operators with machine troubleshooting to correct quality issues and minimize downtime.
  • Evaluate trends/patterns on repaired equipment and implement actions that will eliminate repetitive repair work.
  • Install new equipment or make upgrades to existing equipment.
  • Source and order parts as needed and assist in management of spare parts area.
  • Complete documentation of work performed.
  • Set an example of safe work practices in every job performed; LOTO, PPE, elevated work

Key Qualifications and traits:

Required
  • High School Diploma required. Certificate, degree, or apprenticeship in an electrical or electronics trade is strongly preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience in industrial electrical maintenance of manufacturing equipment.
  • Knowledge and understanding of 480V 3 phase power
  • Experience with mechanical power transfer systems, pneumatics and hydraulics
  • Competence reading electrical and mechanical schematics.
  • Fork truck operation and rigging experience.
  • Must be able to work with limited supervision.
  • Excellent time management and the ability to handle multiple priorities
  • Clearly communicate verbally and in writing
  • Customer Service inclination, the entire facility is your customer.
  • Detail oriented with a natural preference to see things orderly.
  • Computer literate in Microsoft Office (MS Word, Excel and Outlook)
  • The ability to see colors is necessary

Preferred

  • Familiar with the National Electrical Code NFPA 70
  • Working knowledge of NFPA electrical standard for industrial machinery
  • Allen Bradley PLC programming and troubleshooting basic experience.
  • Basic knowledge of RSLogix 500, RSLogix 5000 software.
  • North Carolina electrical license

Working Conditions:

  • 8-hour Monday-Friday shift schedule with flexibility in work hours.
  • Primarily plant floor; some office and computer time.
  • Must be able to work in environments that include hot/cold temperatures, wet areas, elevated and confined spaces, and standing/walking most of the day that may include uneven surfaces.
  • Applying physical mobility that includes reaching, lifting, holding, pushing and pulling, carrying, bending, climbing stairs and ladders, kneeling, arm and leg extension.
  • Exposure to noise and some chemical products in conditions where all appropriate protective equipment is available.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50lbs.
