Compensation: $80,000+ (based on experience)
Maple Hall at the New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT) is a dynamic student housing community in Newark, NJ, and we're looking for a skilled Maintenance Supervisor to lead our facilities operations. Key Responsibilities
As Maintenance Supervisor, you'll oversee the daily operations of our maintenance department and ensure Maple Hall is safe, functional, and welcoming for students:
- Supervise and mentor maintenance staff, delegating work orders and monitoring performance.
- Manage preventative maintenance schedules for HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and appliances.
- Oversee vendor relationships, contracts, and quality control of outside services.
- Conduct property inspections and ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations.
- Track maintenance budgets, inventory, and supplies efficiently.
- Respond to emergency maintenance issues with urgency and professionalism.
What We're Looking For
- Experience: 1 years of maintenance leadership, preferably in student housing or multifamily communities.
- Technical Skills: strong HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and appliance repair knowledge.
- Leadership: proven ability to manage a team, set priorities, and foster accountability.
- Compliance: working knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and other safety standards.
- Flexibility: ability to respond to after-hours emergencies as needed.
