Department Responsibilities
- Direct supervision to the Specialty Trades Technicians and Mechanical Trade Technicians that are assigned to the Trades Crew. Proposing projects to Facilities Specialist, planning and estimating projects that staff will execute. Regularly completes staff reviews.
- Responsible for evaluating ways to improve energy/water/steam consumption; daily monitoring/service to the building automation systems utilized throughout the department; works closely with FSU Engineers on building automation controls, outside engineers/contractors and vendors, as directed by the Facilities Specialist
- Responsible, but not limited to working with outside contractors on departmental projects; in-house projects and special projects as assigned by the Facilities Specialist. Works directly with the Facilities Specialist on maintaining records, manuals, blueprints
- Establishes and assists in cost estimates, material and man hours expenditures, planning/completing work to comply with FSU Guidelines and State of Florida Building Code, maintenance of Trades Crew vehicles. Other related duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent and five years' experience or a combination of post high school education and experience equal to five years or a completion of an approved apprenticeship program in a recognized trade and five years' experience
- A valid State of Florida or Georgia Driver’s License or ability to obtain upon hire.

The anticipated starting salary is $38,060, commensurate with experience.
