Job Title: Maintenance Engineer

Location: Euclid, OH

Shift: 2nd Shift (2pm-10:30pm)

Pay: Up to $32/hr

Job Description

As a Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for troubleshooting, planning, modifying, and repairing all types of plant equipment. Your role will include performing basic electrical troubleshooting, repair, and installation, as well as participating in the plant's preventive maintenance program for mechanical and electrical equipment. You will ensure new or repaired equipment performs satisfactorily and make modifications or fabrications as required using various tools and machines. Maintaining a clean and orderly environment in the maintenance shop and job sites is crucial, along with adhering to safety policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot, plan, modify, and repair/rebuild plant equipment.
  • Perform basic electrical troubleshooting, repair, and installation.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance for mechanical and electrical equipment.
  • Test new or repaired equipment for satisfactory performance.
  • Modify/fabricate using welders, cutting torches, and various machines.
  • Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of equipment, maintenance shop, and job sites.
  • Work in accordance with OSHA and safety policies.
  • Operate in elevated places and confined spaces when necessary.
  • Document completed work and report job outcomes/supplies used.
  • Detail job status to operators and management.
  • Submit requisitions for repair/replacement parts as necessary.
  • Maintain parts inventory and equipment files/records.

Essential Skills

  • 3-5 years of maintenance repair experience.
  • General mechanical knowledge including pumps, motors, chains, sprockets, pulleys, v-belts, and gearboxes.
  • Basic industrial electrical and pneumatic knowledge.
  • Fabrication and repair using welding and cutting torches.
  • Knowledge of industrial control systems.
  • Ability to operate mobile equipment such as forklifts and man lifts.
  • Ability to read and understand prints, electrical schematics, and manuals.
  • Ownership of required hand tools and appropriate storage.
  • Basic computer skills including email and internet.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Strong electrical experience with 480v 3 phase systems.
  • PLC troubleshooting and programming experience.
  • Certification in Forklift operating (re-certification required through the company).

Work Environment

This role primarily involves work in the dry fill area, handling various forms of powdered material used in concrete. Maintenance work will focus on pneumatics, compressed air systems, solenoids, switches, sensors, and motors. The position operates on the 2nd shift from 2:00 PM to 10:30 PM, Monday through Friday, with initial training on the 1st shift from 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM. There is potential for a split shift if necessary.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Cleveland, Ohio.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $32.00/hr.
