Position Overview:
 We are seeking a poised, polished, and personable Maître D’ to be the face of our dining room. The Maître D’ plays a critical role in setting the tone of the guest experience from the moment they walk through the door.
Key Responsibilities:
Guest Welcome & Experience:
Greet and seat guests with enthusiasm and professionalism; manage first and lasting impressions with intention and care.Reservation & Floor Management:
Oversee nightly seating charts and guest flow using reservation platforms (e.g., Open Table); accommodate VIPs, special requests, and walk-ins strategically.Communication & Coordination:
Act as the communication bridge between hosts, servers, management, and the kitchen; ensure smooth transitions and consistent pacing throughout service.Brand Representation:
Uphold the spirit and energy of Capon’s Chophouse through confident, approachable service; build guest relationships and encourage repeat visits.Problem Solving:
Handle guest concerns or issues with urgency, empathy, and discretion.
Qualifications:
2+ years of experience as a Maître D’, host manager, or similar guest-facing role in a high-volume, upscale restaurant
Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
Experience with Resy or other reservation systems
Professional demeanor and polished appearance
Natural ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure
Flexible availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays
