Job Summary
The Manager, International Tax supports global tax compliance, reporting, and strategic planning activities for the organization. This role ensures accurate and timely reporting of international tax obligations, supports consolidation of the global income tax provision, Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) reporting, and tax control documentation, manages transfer pricing documentation, and provides technical expertise on international tax matters to align with financial and business objectives.
This position is based in Leawood, KS and is not eligible for relocation.
What you will be doing:
- Oversee the preparation and review of international components of the U.S. consolidated income tax return.
- Manage global financial statement reporting in accordance with Accounting Standards Codification (ASC) 740, including quarterly and annual tax provisions and related footnote disclosures.
- Direct and maintain documentation of transfer pricing policies between U.S. and international affiliates.
- Support compliance efforts for Country-by-Country reporting and OECD Pillar II requirements.
- Provide analysis and recommendations on global tax forecasting, structuring, and special projects.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls (SOX 404) and assist in process documentation and improvement.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and international subsidiaries to align tax positions and reporting.
- Manage relationships with external service providers and regulatory authorities to optimize results and minimize risk
What we need from you:
- Advanced degree or certification (Masters Degree, CPA, CMI, JD or LLM) related to Taxation.
- 5+ years of combined corporate income tax experience within a Big 4 accounting firm and/or corporate tax department.
- Proficiency with U.S. international tax compliance forms, including Forms 5471 and 8858.
- Working knowledge of ASC 740 (Accounting for Income Taxes) and related financial reporting standards.
- Proficiency in MS Office, and tax accounting software (e.g. OneSource Tax Provision and OneSource Compliance).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across global teams.
- Proven analytical, problem-solving, and research skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a dynamic environment.
- Demonstrated experience working with regulatory authorities and external service providers.
- Strong organizational, technical, and leadership capabilities.
What we also value (preferred):
- Expertise in international transfer pricing rules and documentation.
- Knowledge of European international tax laws and IFRS accounting principles.
- Knowledge of GILTI, FDII, Country-by-Country reporting, and OECD Pillar II frameworks.
- Advanced data analysis and financial modeling skills using Excel.
- Experience with Oracle Accounting software.
