Manager, Controls Engineering Summary: The Manager of Controls Engineering is responsible for leading and overseeing the activities of the controls engineering team, including project planning, scheduling, staffing, and technical direction. This role manages the execution of technology development projects involving kinematic and dynamic modeling, control systems design, robotic system design, and electromagnetic design. The manager ensures timely completion of development and tuning activities while providing technical support across design, manufacturing, field service, and continuous improvement initiatives at Persimmon. Direct Reports: 3+ Key Responsibilities: Lead, plan, and manage all activities within the controls engineering group. Define project scope, schedules, priorities, and resource allocation. Provide technical oversight and ensure high-quality execution of control systems and robotic designs. Support cross-functional collaboration and promote effective communication among multidisciplinary teams. Review, track, and finalize project documentation with minimal supervision. Required Skills: Control systems design and tuning Kinematic and dynamic analysis Robotic and electromagnetic systems Algorithm development, programming, and simulation Experience: Minimum 5 years in controls engineering Proven project and team leadership experience Education: M.S. in Controls Engineering, Robotics, or related field Other Requirements: Less than 5% travel (local, domestic, and international) Primarily sedentary work; occasional lifting up to 30 lbs Compensation: $150,000–$200,000 annually, based on experience, skills, job knowledge, internal equity, and location.
