This is a fully trainedshop mechanic who is able to perform all required shop job dutiesand routine preventative
maintenance functions. Thisposition performs all repairs relating to a trailer and minorrepairs relating to the
refrigeration powerunit.

What you'll doas an MechanicII:
  • Perform thefunctions of a Grade 4 Mechanic.
  • Performpreventative maintenance and repairs on trailerrefrigeration.
  • Perform simple and complexmechanical and electrical repairs.
  • Must be ableto perform the following repairs withoutsupervision:
    • Diagnose, remove, repair, replaceor rebuild:
      • clutches
      • waterpumps
      • tires
      • tractorsuspension
      • bodyrepairs
      • reardifferentials
      • drivelines
      • transmissions
      • wheelseals
      • brakesystems
  • Diagnoseand tune up or make repairs on dieselengines.
  • Perform front wheelalignments.
  • Perform axle alignments ontrailers.
  • Troubleshoot coolingsystems.
  • Conduct diagnostictests.
  • Cut or weld using cutting torch andwelding machine.
  • Read, understand and useservice bulletins and technicalmanuals.
  • Maintain shoptools.
  • Complete all paper work and computerinput.
  • Comply effectively with company work andsafety rules.
  • Effectively communicate bothwritten and orally with supervisor andpeers.
  • Followdirections.
  • Work independently and in a teamenvironment.
  • Be trained and certified tooperate any required equipment within 30 days afterhire.
  • Comply with company attendancepolicy.
  • Maintain a flexible work schedule tomeet the changing needs of the job. Must be available for shopon-call rotation, and able to do road calls using a companyvehicle.

Qualificationsyou'll bring as a MechanicII:
  • Have High SchoolDiploma or GED. Trade school graduate in heavy duty diesel repairs,and/or refrigeration
    classes. Beginning level ispreferred.
  • Have 2 years job experience ondiesel repairs, tractor- trailer, refrigeration maintenance andrepairs.
  • One year documented experience infleet maintenance or one-year employment with company at upperscale of Class C Technician.
  • Posses basic handtools (up to ½" drive) and tool storage.
  • Possesor acquire within 1 year from date of hire a current ASEcertification in Medium/Heavy Truck Preventative MaintenanceInspection (PMI) (Test T8).
  • Possess a ValidClass C Drivers License. A Class A license is preferred but notrequired.
  • Stand, walk, bend, stoop, push, pull,grasp and reach above the head for extended periods oftime.
  • Possess the followingcertifications:
    • Certification with InternationalMaxx Force 13 Engines.
    • Certification inTransportation Refrigeration.
    • Brake Systems andcomponents.
    • Tractor A/C Refrigeration and FreonRecovery (609 license required).
    • TrailerRefrigeration 608 license required if working on trailerunits.
    • Heavy Duty electrical diagnostics andrepairs.
    • Prefer ASE Certification in heavy dutymechanics and Cummins or Detroitcertification.
  • Thisposition requires the ability to read, write, and understandEnglish at a level sufficient to perform job-related taskseffectively and safely. This includes understanding workinstructions, safety protocols, and communications essential to therole. The requirement is directly related to the nature of the joband ensures compliance with workplace safety and operationalstandards.
