What you'll doas an MechanicIII:
- Perform thefunctions of a Grade 4 and Grade 5Mechanic.
- Perform complex mechanical andelectrical repairs.
- Perform major repairs onrefrigeration units including diesel engine repairs and overhaulrefrigeration component repair and compressorrebuild.
- Perform major diesel engine repairs,in frame, and diesel overheadservices.
- Diagnose and repair, replace orrebuild:
- Refrigeration unit using Thermo KingGreen Books.
- Brakesystems.
- Anti-locksystems.
- Electrical systems (tractor-trailerand/or refrigeration units).
- Coolingsystems.
- Fuelsystems.
- Couplingsystems.
- Differentials.
- Tractor/trailersuspensions.
- Eaton, spicer-fullertransmissions.
- Weld andfabricate.
- Perform body and framerepairs.
- Must be able to perform the followingrepairs on the refrigeration unit withoutsupervision:
- PreventativeMaintenance.
- Beltreplacement.
- Charging/starting system,troubleshooting, and repairs.
- Inspections onreefer, reefer Trailer andTractor.
- Complyeffectively with company work and safetyrules.
- Must be able to learn and be proficientin all required software.
- Complete all paperwork and computer input.
- Effectivelycommunicate both written and orally with supervisor andpeers.
- Followdirections.
- Work independently and in a teamenvironment.
- Be trained and certified tooperate any required equipment within 30 days afterhire.
- Comply with company attendancepolicy.
- Maintain a flexible work schedule tomeet the changing needs of the job. Must be available for shopon-call rotation, and able to do road calls using a companyvehicle.
Qualificationsyou'll bring as a MechanicIII:
- Have High SchoolDiploma or GED. Tech School classes or college-level equivalenttraining preferred.
- Be 18 years orolder.
- Have 3 years job experience on majordiesel repairs, heavy duty tractor- trailer repairs, majorrefrigeration
maintenance andrepairs. - Possess a Valid Class C DriversLicense. Prefer Class A.
- Requires at least aminimum of five years documented fleet maintenance experience intractor/trailer repair or one-year employment with company at theupper scale of Class II Technician.
- Stand,walk, bend, stoop, push, pull, grasp and reach above the head forextended periods of time.
- Must have thefollowing certifications:
- A current ASEcertification in Medium/Heavy Truck Brakes (TestT4).
- A current ASE certification inMedium/Heavy Truck Suspension and Steering (TestT5).
- Thermo King Advanced training courses inmulti temp units.
- Cummins or Detroitcertification in major overhaul andrepairs.
- Maxx Force 13Engines.
- Brake systems andcomponents.
- Tractor diagnostics andrepairs.
- Handling Freon 608 and609.
- Spicer-fuller, Eatontransmissions.
- Spicer-fuller, Eatondifferentials.
- Electrical diagnostics andrepairs.
- Front suspension andalignment.
- Welding andFabrication.
- Thisposition requires the ability to read, write, and understandEnglish at a level sufficient to perform job-related taskseffectively and safely. This includes understanding workinstructions, safety protocols, and communications essential to therole. The requirement is directly related to the nature of the joband ensures compliance with workplace safety and operationalstandards.
