Job Title: Senior Mechanical Engineer Location: Ogden, UT (Full-Time Onsite) Contract: Hourly, $75–$90/hr Additional Benefits: Per diem, mobilization, and paid trips home Citizenship Requirement: U.S. Citizenship Required About the Role We’re seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer for a long-term contract position in Ogden, Utah. This role is part of a major defense infrastructure program modernizing critical U.S. systems. You’ll work closely with multidisciplinary teams to prepare and review mechanical design and procurement documents for chilled water systems and specialized mechanical equipment. If you have strong experience in piping systems, equipment design, and working on large-scale industrial or defense-related projects, this is an excellent opportunity to contribute to meaningful work with national impact. What You’ll Do Develop and review P&IDs, data sheets, specifications, and material requisitions Prepare documentation for unique and requirement-driven equipment packages Serve as the technical representative for purchase orders and subcontracts Evaluate and apply standard mechanical engineering methods and codes Coordinate with other engineering disciplines, vendors, and clients Provide technical oversight and mentorship to junior engineers Support construction and project management teams during execution Prepare reports, conceptual studies, and proposals Ensure design compliance with all applicable standards and regulations Qualifications Level 1: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (or related) Minimum 5 years of relevant experience Level 2: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (or related) Minimum 8 years of relevant experience Required Skills and Experience Strong background in piping and instrumentation diagram (P&ID) development Experience in chilled water systems, pipe sizing, and equipment specification Background in custom equipment design, including skid-mounted systems and specialty components Experience with Department of Defense (DoD) projects and Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC) Familiarity with ASME NQA-1 or AS9100D quality assurance programs U.S. Professional Engineering License (or ability to obtain within 12 months) Must be able to pass drug screening, background check, and security clearance requirements
