Overview


We are seeking a Medical & Clinical Operations Supervisor to oversee the Patient Registration Department. This role is a 6-month contract and offers the opportunity to lead a team in a fast-paced hospital environment. The Supervisor will be responsible for staff scheduling, operational guidance, and ensuring optimal workflow within the department.


The ideal candidate is a results-driven leader with experience in patient registration and hospital operations, able to manage staff effectively, and support revenue cycle initiatives.


Primary Responsibilities


  • Serve as on-call supervisor for staff scheduling and operational support.
  • Monitor and manage a team of 15 employees, ensuring productivity and adherence to performance standards.
  • Provide operational guidance and support under the direction of the Patient Access Manager.
  • Disseminate policy and procedure updates and provide technical advice to staff.
  • Develop associate work schedules and assignments to optimize staffing and workflow.
  • Perform duties of relief staff or other assigned functions as needed.
  • Ensure coverage across multiple sites within the facility, maintaining service quality.
  • Participate in the redesign of Patient Access processes to improve service, data integrity, and staff productivity.
  • Foster effective communication and strong customer service across the department.
  • Provide training, onboarding, and continuing education for staff.
  • Maintain departmental budget, minimizing overtime where possible.
  • Document and manage employee performance, corrective actions, and disciplinary measures.
  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local laws, policies, and hospital standards.
  • Analyze operational data and provide management reports on KPIs, including patient satisfaction, wait times, and staff productivity.


Required Qualifications

  • Proven leadership experience in a hospital or clinical operations setting.
  • Experience with patient registration in a hospital environment.
  • Knowledge of revenue cycle operations preferred.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and lead a team effectively.


Nice to Have / Preferred Skills

  • Familiarity with hospital or health system policies and procedures.
  • Experience in staff mentoring, coaching, and development.
  • Strong analytical skills for performance and operational data.


Schedule / Shift

  • Hours: Monday – Friday, 11:00 AM – 7:30 PM
  • On-call: Alternating weekly schedule (1 week on, 1 week off) for scheduling support
