Job Description
Southwestern Medical Center is a Joint Commission-accredited full-service hospital with 199 beds, including a 59-bed Med/Surg Unit and an 8-bed ICU that provides 24-hour emergency services. The physician staff of 150 provides care in 31 medical specialties, including comprehensive surgical services, Cardiopulmonary, Rehabilitation, and Womens Health Services. Southwestern Regional Cancer Center was the first cancer program in southwest Oklahoma and the first to be accredited by the Commission on Cancer.

Medical Director Responsibilities:
- Provide on-site management of the clinical and administrative aspects for the Emergency Medicine program.
- Manage the quality improvement plan including attending regular meetings and review of medical records
- Supervise staff, provide feedback, and assure provision of high-quality care
- Review the provider schedule and ensure adequate staffing
- Actively participate in the recruitment and retention of qualified physicians and advanced practice providers
- Serve as liaison between hospital administration and clinical staff and provide regular feedback to IES leadership

- 21,000 annual ED visits
- 24 hours of physician coverage, 12 hours of APP coverage
- 11 ED beds
