Job Title: Medical Receptionist

Position Overview: OrthoLazer Orthopedic Wellness Center provides an innovative, drug-free, and non-invasive solution for managing acute and chronic musculoskeletal pain conditions. As a Medical Receptionist you will be the first point of contact for patients, playing a crucial role in creating a welcoming environment, supporting patient care, and ensuring smooth office operations. This position will start as a Part-Time role working Wednesday, Thursday & Friday, with potential to move to full-time in the fall.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Greet patients warmly and create a welcoming atmosphere.
  • Educate prospective patients about laser therapy, its benefits, and treatment processes.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for phone inquiries and help determine patient suitability for laser therapy.
  • Build rapport with patients, showing genuine care for their healing journey.
  • Assist with scheduling appointments and checking out patients after treatment.
  • Maintain a clean and organized reception area.
  • Ensure patient documents are complete and accurate.
  • Process payments and manage daily business checks and balances.
  • Follow up on emails as necessary.
  • Cross-train as a Laser Technician to provide support when needed.

Qualifications:

  • At least 1 year of experience in a customer-facing role.
  • Experience with appointment scheduling and multi-line phone systems.
  • Minimum of an associate degree (or similar) in a medical field.
  • Prior experience with musculoskeletal conditions is a plus.
  • Basic knowledge of anatomy and physiology.
  • Strong computer skills (EMR and scheduling systems, Microsoft Suite).
  • Self-motivated with excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to adapt to new technology and learn independently.
  • Highly organized and able to multitask effectively.

Communication & Customer Service:

  • Strong patient service orientation with a caring attitude toward diverse patient backgrounds.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills, confident in speaking with patients and medical providers.
  • Positive, engaging communication style that builds patient confidence in laser therapy.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
