Mental Health Therapist at Spring Behavioral Health Solutions, LLC
Job Description
Company Description
Spring Behavioral Health Solutions, LLC, is a small private practice with a reputation for successfully managing and treating complex and high-risk cases. We are looking to increase the number of clinicians in order to support a group therapy program for high-risk patients. This would serve as an adjunct to individual therapy, in order to further mitigate risks which might otherwise lead to hospitalization or adverse events.
Role Description
Spring Behavioral Health Solutions, LLC is seeking a dedicated full- or part-time Mental Health Therapist to join our team. This is an on-site role based in Anchorage, AK, with an option for partial time work from home. The Mental Health Therapist will be responsible for conducting client assessments, creating and implementing personalized treatment plans, providing individual therapy, evaluating risk for suicide and violence, and developing/implementing risk mitigation plans. The role involves team collaboration and maintaining accurate documentation of services. The position requires demonstrated competency in delivering empirically supported treatments, such as Behavior Activation, Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Prolonged Exposure Therapy, Exposure and Response Prevention, ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT), and/or other ESTs. The applicant is NOT expected to be competent in all modalities. RATHER, the applicant is expected to be HIGHLY competent in some ESTs. Though not currently providing group therapy, applicants should anticipate the expectation to co-facilitate group therapy sessions in the future.
Qualifications/Expectations
- Licensed or eligible for licensure (e.g., PhD, LCSW, LPC, LMFT) in Alaska
- Master's degree in Clinical Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or a related field
- Competence in Treatment Planning and developing individualized care plans
- Knowledge and skills in Case Management
- Theoretical understanding and competency in Mental Health diagnostics and evidence-based interventions
- Ability to balance fidelity to evidence-based treatments, with making theoretically sound adjustments to accommodate individual clients' level of readiness for change, needs for rapport building, capacity to tolerate the rigors of therapy, and their cultural, ethnic, racial, sexual, gender, disability, religious, economic, and age status/identities
- Proficiency in maintaining detailed client records and documentation
- Competency in facilitating group therapy
- Commitment to facilitate and participate in a monthly peer-review program
- Commitment to provide 6 face-to-face clinical hours per day (for a full-time position; pro-rated for part-time positions)
- Participation in a weekly peer consultation meeting
- Not required, but may improve your standing relative to other applicants: Proficiency in conducting Family Therapy and providing support for familial systems
- Not required, but may improve your bargaining power for salary and standing relative to other applicants: a doctoral degree in psychology with experience and training sufficient to administer and interpret psychological testing
During the hiring process, applicants will be expected to demonstrate competency. You will be given a hypothetical case record and time to review the record in advance. During one segment of the face-to-face interview, the interviewer will assume the role of the patient from the hypothetical case record. You will be expected to conduct a therapy session for this hypothetical case.
NOTE: Do not be discouraged from applying due to limited experience. We are aware there are early career therapists whose experience is limited but who have substantial skill in delivering empirically supported treatments. In the hiring process, a demonstrated ability to deliver competent therapy will be prioritized over experience.
Compensation/Benefits
Spring Behavioral Health Solutions aims to provide a competitive compensation package. For an appropriately qualified master's level clinician, initial job offers may range (for full-time employees) from $84,000 to $117,000 annual salary, a semi-annual stipend of up to $4000 to assist with continuing education expenses (including qualifying travel expenses), and 28-days paid time off per year (including holidays, which may be used as flex time for alternate days off). Offers will be individualized based on licensure status, demonstrated competency during the interview, feedback from references, and experience. We also aim to facilitate benefits such as health insurance assistance (as a stipend or a group health insurance plan) and potentially employer matching to a retirement savings plan. For a maximally qualified master's level clinician, the total value of a compensation package could equate to as much as $130,153.
