DEPARTMENT: Recreation, Parks, Historic and Cultural Affairs
PAY RANGE: $15 / Hourly
JOB STATUS: Seasonal (120 days or less); Days, Evenings, and/or Weekends
SCHEDULE
Market: November 22 – December 22, with training occurring the two weeks prior.
Shifts
Monday through Thursday, 2:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
Friday and Saturday, two shifts 11:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
Sunday, two shifts 11:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
JOB SUMMARY
This position is responsible for opening the facility for business, answering phones, greeting customers and park visitors, relaying information on Recreation and Parks programs, answering general visitation questions about the historic home, assist/participate in special programs and activities as needed, and other duties may be required and assigned. Employee must exercise independent judgment, discretion, and initiative in completing assignments. Employee must also exercise considerable tact and courtesy in frequent contact with the general public.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
No work experience is required for this entry-level position. Experience or education is preferred, which provides the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Excellent customer service experience and skills.
Knowledge or experience with historic sites is preferred.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Tasks require the ability to exert moderate, though not constant physical effort, typically involving some combination of climbing and balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling, and which may involve some lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling of objects and materials of moderate weight (20-50 pounds). Tasks require the ability to stand and or walk for lengths of time and climb stairs. Tasks require the ability to communicate orally and clearly on a regular basis.
ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS
Performance of essential functions may require exposure to adverse environmental conditions, such as dirt, dust, pollen, odors, wetness, humidity, rain, temperature and noise extremes, or rude/irate customers. Job functions may take place both indoors and outdoors, subject to various weather conditions and environments.
