Job Description

Job Summary

Under the direction of the Measurement Lead, the Quality Specialist is responsible for coordinating calibration and management of all company gages, managing incoming certifications, and problem solving PPAP delays. The Quality Specialist will oversee PPAP testing activities and offer assistance to Technicians as needed. Employee must be detail orientated and well organized. Adheres to HellermannTyton's IATF16949/ISO9001 Quality and ISO14001 EMS certifications by supporting all corporate policies, procedures, work instructions and required documentation.

Essential Functions

* Manages Gagepak software

* Ensures all company gages are calibrated on time

* Communicates with Multiple HT departments and collects/returns gages

* Schedules for all on-site calibrations

* Handles all purchasing and repair of hand tools and equipment

* In charge of receiving and storing all Gage certs

* Keeps all Max4000 moisture programs up to date and current with one another

* Receives and enters all incoming Material Certs into storage

* Verifies mechanical properties of material certs match material received

* Pulls Material certs for requesting parties within HT

* Handles all Gage R&R paperwork

Other Functions

* Complete PPAP & PPC tests and required documentation.

* Perform visual, dimensional and physical testing on the incoming, in-process and finished goods

* Performs visual inspections on durable materials and raw materials and document results/findings on appropriate forms/charts.

* Utilize CMM's, CT scanners, Laser scanners, and Vision systems.

* Perform various part inspections utilizing multiple inspection software's (Gom Inspect, Calypso, Inspec)

* Perform moisture checks on material using Vapor Pro., scales and vacuum ovens.

* Assist in maintaining HellermannTyton's IATF16949/ISO14001 certification by supporting Corporate policies, procedures, work instructions and required documentation.

* Support the Lean/WIN initiative by always looking for ways to improve processes/functionality/products.

* Perform gage R&R.

* File documents in department as needed.

* Perform other duties as assigned.

* Use and train others on lab equipment such as moisture analyzer, tensiometer, & moisture oven.

* Pass Ishihara Test for Color or advise if color is deficient

* Ability to multi-task.

* Ability to use all testing equipment and perform all testing required.

* Ability to use and understand control plans.

* Ability to use the oven and scale for moisture verification.

Qualifications (skills, knowledge, experience)

* High school diploma or equivalent required.

* Some post high school education preferred.

* 5 years plus prior lab experience in a manufacturing setting with an understanding of lab terms and definitions.

* Excellent verbal & written communication skills.

* Prior computer skills with Microsoft Office products (Word, excel, outlook).

* Good vision.

* Familiarity with ISO standards/certifications/definitions.

* Familiarity with Statistical Process Control (SPC).

* Blueprint reading skills preferred.

* Excellent verbal & written communication skills.

* Ability to lift/push/pull up to 50 lbs.

* Able to work in an independent or group environment.

* All employees entering the Manufacturing area and other identified locations must wear the designated Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for their position.

* Wearing your Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is a condition of employment.

* Ability to work non-standard hours as needed to meet the needs of the department and customer.

* Previous training experience.

* Knowledge of audits.

* Previous Experience in Process Improvements/Process Reporting.

* Previous Audit or Customer Interaction
