Direct Counsel is representing an Amlaw 100 firm seeking an Attorney with a focus on Music Rights Transactions to join its Entertainment Transactions & Finance practice in New York. This role is ideal for candidates passionate about the business of music, entertainment, and intellectual property, with a strong interest in representing recording artists, producers, executives, and leading entertainment brands.
Key Responsibilities:Review and prepare comments on third-party participant agreements for compositions and recorded music (e.g., producer, mixer, featured artist, songwriter agreements, letters of direction, certificates of recording).
Draft and revise standard third-party participant agreements and other basic agreements in music, entertainment, and related fields (including publicity and interview releases).
Collaborate with attorneys, consultants, and professionals across the entertainment and finance teams.
Develop strategic thinking and problem-solving skills in the intellectual property and entertainment law space.
Support recording artists and entertainment clients in achieving their creative and business goals.
Bar membership in good standing in the jurisdiction of practice (or awaiting bar results in the jurisdiction where you intend to practice).
Experience or demonstrated interest in the music business, entertainment law, corporate law, or intellectual property.
Strong analytical, drafting, and communication skills.
Passion for supporting artists, brands, and innovators in the entertainment industry.
Team-oriented with strong initiative, creativity, and problem-solving abilities.
Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
$70,0000 - $90,000 per year
