Rady Children’s Health - Orange County (CHOC), a leading pediatric healthcare institution in Orange County, CA, serves patients across Orange, Los Angeles, Riverside, and San Bernardino counties. With a dedicated team of renowned clinicians and researchers, CHOC has become a national leader in neonatal neurocritical care, providing therapeutic hypothermia for over 100 infants per year with hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy (HIE).

In collaboration with the University of California, Irvine (UCI), CHOC is seeking a highly motivated physician to join our Neonatal Neurocritical Care Fellowship. This one-year, advanced training program is designed to equip fellows with expertise in neonatal neurology, neurocritical care, and neuroprotection strategies for high-risk newborns.

Our program is accredited through the United Council for Neurologic Subspecialties (UCNS), ensuring that fellows will be eligible to sit for the UCNS certifying exam upon graduation.

Program Highlights

  1. Intensive training in neonatal brain monitoring, neuroimaging, and neuroprotection strategies
  2. Hands-on experience with advanced neonatal EEG interpretation and MRI analysis
  3. Multidisciplinary collaboration with neonatologists, pediatric neurologists, neurosurgeons, and developmental specialists
  4. Participation in clinical research and quality improvement initiatives
  5. Exposure to neonatal neurodevelopmental follow-up clinics

Eligibility Requirements

  1. MD or DO degree from a US accredited medical school
  2. Completion of an ACGME-accredited Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine fellowship
  3. Board-eligible or board-certified in Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine
  4. Strong interest in neonatal neurocritical care, neurodevelopment, and research
