Job Description
Solstice Consulting Group is seeking a Network Engineer for our global financial services client based in Houston, Texas. Role is HYBRID with 4 days per week in the office in Northwest Houston and 1 day remote.
· Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or related technical background and 5+ years network engineering / server experience required
· CCNA Certification strongly preferred

Position Summary:
Under supervision, designs, builds, implements, monitors, and maintains moderately complex network systems and communications, including, but not limited to routers, switches, load-balancers, firewalls, network optimizers. Evaluates business and technical requirements and recommends network technologies that, when employed, will meet business goals.
Role Responsibilities:
· Design, create, install, and configure current network server systems and repair server hardware.
· Monitor, maintain, support, and optimize all networked software and associated operating systems
· Use knowledge of network and server operating systems to help design, build and install internal and external networks.
· Perform remedial maintenance of file servers and network devices including the restoration or hardware and software.
· Test and evaluate network systems to ensure stability, eliminate problems and make improvements.
· Perform troubleshooting to correct issues.
· Identify, recommend, develop, implement, and support cost-effective new or more effective technology solutions
· Assist in comparing vendors and costs to plan large scale system projects.
· Collaborate with IT risk management and security to reduce business risk.
Requirements:
· Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field and 5+ years of network engineering experience
· Cisco Certified Network Administrator (CCNA) certification strongly preferred.
· Recent experience with Citrix, VMware, Dell servers, and Microsoft technologies.
· SolarWinds Experience preferred
· Meraki Wireless experience preferred
· SD-WAN experience preferred
