Job SummaryThe University of North Georgia is accepting application for an Office Assistant III. This position requires a detail-oriented professional who is able to perform a variety of challenging administrative tasks and who can oversee duties that are vital to the department. The incumbent must have strong interpersonal skills and will be required to communicate effectively with faculty, staff, parents, and students.
In addition to background checks for all cardholders, O.C.G.A. § 50-5-83 requires a credit check on all employees issued a purchasing card. Additionally, credit checks must be run at the time of Pcard renewal.

Responsibilities- Greet and assist students, faculty, and others who come to the office, and respond to calls from other campuses when an SAS staff person is out.
- Perform general office duties, to include typing correspondence, filing, and distributing mail, answering the phone, scheduling appointments for staff, and responding to general inquiries.

- Maintain the note-taking record-keeping system for students with disabilities (to include accessing student information in SAM and Banner) and provide guidance to students and their note takers.
- Process PCard purchases, check requests, and purchase requisitions for all campuses, and assist with monitoring the budget
- Schedule sign language interpreters, communicate with interpreters or agencies, and monitor the processing of invoices.
- Make purchases for the office, strictly adhering to purchasing card (PCard) and other purchasing procedures.
- Assist with meetings and events (such as the peer mentor activities); schedule rooms, organize set up and advertising, and assist with planning
- Provide back-up for Testing Facilitator, as needed.
- Contribute to the dissemination of information by assisting with the Accessibility Services website; participating in Orientation and Open House, and posting Notice Board announcements.

- High School Diploma or GED
- Three years of related experience required.
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- Experience in post-secondary environment preferred; experience with students with disabilities preferred
- Experience with student information systems, such as Banner Web, preferred.
