Responsibilities

The Department of Chemistry & Biochemistry at Florida State University seeks to fill the Gregory Choppin Professorship in Chemistry to grow and lead a departmental initiative in the are of Sustainable & Environmental Chemistry, contributing to FSU's ASPIRE Strategic Plan.

The Choppin Professor will be expected to maintain a nationally and internationally recognized research program, to teach both undergraduate and graduate courses, and to collaborate with faculty members across the department and university, as well as outside partners.

Qualifications

Doctoral degree from an accredited institution or the highest degree appropriate in a related field. Applications are encouraged from individuals with distinguished records of research accomplishments, as evidenced by high-impact publications, external funding, and recognition from the scientific community.

Helpful

The appointment is expected to be made at the senior level with tenure with an expected start date of August 2025. Review of applications will begin in early October 2024 and will continue until the position is filled.
