Job Details:
This position is responsible for learning all aspects of Live Production operations by working with the Team to learn how to promote a safe working environment and general live production needs. This position will learn the live operations facilities consisting of: Hatchery, Feed mill, Live haul, Breeders, & Broilers. The position will be directed in instruction as to learn how the various live areas work together for the full process.
Some of the duties will include:
- Ensuring communication between hatchery, feed mill, vaccination crews, and live-haul as it pertains to their contract farms.
- Farm visits including management of flock and growing relationships with contract growers:
- Learning to advise producers regarding building and equipment specifications, litter manipulation, and farm sanitation.
- Farm visits to include documenting bird comfort management of the flock and equipment settings as well as monitoring feed consumption and ordering feed.
- Ensuring in all areas including USDA, Animal Welfare, and other government regulations are followed when handling poultry.
- Observing and learning the above duties will prepare the trainee for the responsibility of being a technician or supervisor over a specific area as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:
Education: Bachelors degree in agricultural areas or equivalent is preferred.
Experience: Experience is not required but internships in these areas is recommended.
Computer Skills: Basic computer skills. Knowledge of spreadsheets and email is needed.
Travel: Requires travel within the complex.
POSITION REPORTS TO: Live Production Manager
Must not own, possess, or otherwise maintain any domestic, wild or exotic fowl to be considered.
