SUMMARY
RESPONSIBLITIES, AUTHORITY AND ACCOUNTABILITY

Responsibilities
- Pre-test all patients
- Chart appropriate test results
- Translate for the Doctor
- Answer phones
- Schedule patients
- Turn on all display cabinets, audio and visual equipment
- Assist Optician with dispensing and ordering
- Assist in Frame Inventory and tagging
- Participate in Staff Meetings
- Clean Pre-test equipment
- Make referrals to specialist
- Call patient to confirm Appointments
AUTHORTIY
Equals and matches each of the responsibilities.
ACCOUNTABILTY
Reports directly to the Office Manager.
CONCLUSION

EDUCATION AND /OR EXPERIENCE
High school graduate; AA or BA preferred, demonstrates interest in teaching others, demonstrates willingness to learn, demonstrates excellent writing and verbal communication skills, possess a broad general knowledge of medical terminology and acute care procedures performed sufficient to identify and interpret trends. Should have the ability to make recommendations for improvement. Identify discrepancies in documentation. Demonstrates teaching skills, ability to develop and implement standards requires by DHS. Has highly skilled ability to utilize a computer and state of the art programs. CPR certification required.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and analyze medical records of sufficient documentation and/or recognize discrepancies. Ability to consult the most current editions of the Department of Health and Human Services and also, the licensure requirements of the state for Staff Development and Performance Improvement. Knowledge of the DRG system and how it applies to Staff Development and Performance Improvement.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
