Pantry Cook at Cafe Stella
Job Description
Café Stella is seeking a skilled and organized Pantry Cook to join our kitchen team. This role is responsible for executing cold station preparation, plating composed salads, crudo, charcuterie, and dessert items with consistency, precision, and attention to detail. The ideal candidate has a strong foundation in basic French technique, works cleanly, and thrives in a fast-paced service environment.
Responsibilities
Station Preparation and Execution
• Prepare mise en place for salads, cold appetizers, composed plates, and garnishes
• Maintain consistency in flavor, seasoning, texture, and visual presentation
• Follow established recipes, portioning, and plating standards
• Work efficiently during service while communicating with the line and expo
Product Quality and Organization
• Ensure freshness and proper rotation of all ingredients
• Maintain accurate labeling and organization of station components
• Assist with daily inventory and stock checks
Kitchen Collaboration
• Support other stations as needed
• Communicate clearly with team members during peak service
• Participate in pre-service tastings and feedback
Sanitation and Safety
• Maintain a clean, organized workstation at all times
• Follow all health department, HACCP, and food safety requirements
• Adhere to temperature control and cross contamination standards
Qualifications
• One to two years experience in a professional kitchen, preferably in French or European cuisine
• Strong understanding of basic prep, knife skills, and plating composition
• Ability to prioritize tasks and maintain composure under pressure
• High standards of cleanliness, organization, and discipline
• Willingness to learn, take direction, and grow within the kitchen
Compensation and Schedule
• Competitive hourly rate based on experience
• Full-time or part-time shifts available
• Evenings and weekends required
