Description: The Judge Group is currently seeking a Paralegal - III
Position Title: Paralegal III
Department: Legal Services
Work Schedule: Standard hours 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM; must be flexible to work onsite 2-3 days per week as needed
Location: Hybrid (onsite and remote)
Job Summary
The Paralegal III provides advanced legal support across litigation, transactional, and regulatory matters with minimal supervision. This role involves complex legal research, document preparation, project planning, and process development. The Paralegal III serves as a subject matter expert and mentor, contributing to departmental efficiency and compliance.

Job Summary
The Paralegal III provides advanced legal support across litigation, transactional, and regulatory matters with minimal supervision. This role involves complex legal research, document preparation, project planning, and process development. The Paralegal III serves as a subject matter expert and mentor, contributing to departmental efficiency and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
Research and Analysis (50%)
- Conduct complex legal research on federal and state legislation, regulations, and industry guidelines
- Draft monthly legal updates for internal and external stakeholders
- Prepare and review legal correspondence, pleadings, and regulatory filings
- Perform factual investigations and analysis; draft supporting documents for attorney review
- Coordinate and facilitate departmental trainings
- Develop and propose SOPs, guidelines, and processes
- Organize and maintain legal files using approved platforms
- Provide administrative support including scheduling, drafting correspondence, and document management
- Plan and execute legal projects including document collection and record organization
- Evaluate legal operations and recommend technical/process improvements
- Mentor junior staff and interns; provide training and guidance
- Perform additional tasks as assigned to support legal operations and organizational goals
Education Requirements
Required:
- Bachelor's Degree Equivalent education and/or experience may be considered
- Master's Degree
Experience Requirements
Required:
- Minimum 3 years of paralegal experience in a health plan or healthcare organization handling complex regulatory or litigation matters OR
- Minimum 5 years of experience with public agency regulatory requirements (e.g., Brown Act, California Public Records Act, HIPAA, CMS, Medi-Cal)
- Minimum 7 years of paralegal experience in vendor/provider contracts or administrative law
- Experience in matter/project management
- Background in highly regulated industries
Skills and Competencies

- Proficiency in legal technology and research platforms
- Strong attention to detail and document accuracy
- High proficiency in computer systems and operating software
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and writing skills
- Proactive, accountable, and self-motivated
- Effective time management and multitasking abilities
- Ability to prioritize and adapt to shifting workloads
- Experience with teleconferencing, secure file transfer, and advanced legal software platforms
