Job Summary/Description:This position serves as support for the Parking Services Office. Works closely with the Parking Services Director and assists in the daily operation of the Parking Services Office.
Typical Duties/Job Duties:- Serves as the first point of contact for staff, faculty, students, visitors, and vendors entering the Parking Services Office. Provides timely, knowledgeable assistance with parking inquiries and issues physical and e-permits.
- Collects, categorizes, and processes daily parking ticket and permit transactions to ensure accurate financial reporting and operational continuity.
- Answers the telephone, routes calls, takes messages as appropriate. Performs cashiering functions as needed or required.
- Assist customers at the service counter and respond to questions or problems related to campus parking.
- Assists in planning and making arrangements for special events that pertain to parking. Knowledge of general office procedures and practices.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Knowledge
- Department data systems, including Operations Commander and Banner (must become proficient).
- Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Modern office equipment, computer hardware/software, and basic testing equipment.
- Applicable parking policies, procedures, and related departmental operations.
Skills
- Operation of handheld devices, computer keyboards, and terminals.
- Oral and written communication, including clear and professional correspondence.
- Interpersonal relations and customer service.
- Multitasking, organization, and time management to ensure timely completion of assignments.
- Accurate recordkeeping and attention to detail.

- Interpret and explain policies and procedures effectively.
- Establish and maintain cooperative relationships with university divisions, law enforcement, and the public.
- Follow up on projects and assignments to completion.
- Complete required departmental training (e.g., cart safety).
- Must possess at minimum a high school diploma or GED certificate.
- Must possess a knowledge and an understanding of basic campus parking functions and management.
- Must be able to pass a background check.
