Job Description:
The Department of Communication and Writing is seeking a part-time adjunct faculty member to teach one course in the Spring 2026 semester of Literature 100: Exploring Global Literature. This course meets on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:30 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. on York College of Pennsylvania's campus, and the faculty member will be required to hold one office hour per week to support student learning. Faculty members will also be required to participate in any related outcomes assessment work as needed.
Faculty teaching the course should have a background in teaching undergraduate literature courses and supporting General Education programs.
Outcome:
The successful hiring of a part-time faculty member to teach LIT100.
Additionally, the candidate should demonstrate excellent communication skills and have a strong commitment to working as part of a collaborative team.
Qualifications include the ability to communicate with students and the public. Must also be able to apply supervisory skills, motivate students, be personable and professional, have patience with and understanding of students, and be able to learn and apply new concepts and ideas.
