Job Summary

This position is responsible for assisting the department of Health and Wellness with clerical duties, including faculty notification of students with contagious illnesses. Additional duties may include assisting the Dean of Students and Director of Ken White Student Health Center in the investigation of Contagious Illness student reports on campus in the event of reoccurrence of pandemic-level illness cases or direction from the University System of Georgia.

This position will work 29 hours per week and is Partially Benefit eligible.

Responsibilities

Performs administrative support, receptionist and customer service functions - 75
-Answers telephone, checks voicemail, returns calls.
-Schedules and reschedules appointments
-Greets patients/clients for both the Health and Counseling Centers.
-Provides information and assistance to walk ins, takes messages and refers to appropriate personnel.
-Provides supporting clerical functions as needed to facilitate client flow within the Department of Health and Wellness
-Assists with verification of immunization records for incoming students

Coordinates case management for students diagnosed with contagious illnesses - 20
-Accesses student schedules in Banner to identify enrolled courses, faculty, labs etc.
-Communicates return-to-campus dates to relevant faculty following diagnosis, ensuring timely and appropriate academic notification.

Serves as the designated point of contact for contagious illness tracking - 5
-Tracking and reporting in the event of a pandemic-level recurrence or directive from the University System of Georgia.
-Supports additional data collection and reporting efforts as requested by campus leadership the University System of Georgia.

Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements
-Associate degree or equivalent combination of education and/or related work experience is required.

Required Experience
-Previous experience in working with the public

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred Experience
-Experience in health-related field and firm understanding of HIPAA, FERPA, and confidentiality.
-Medical Office Assistant certification.
-Familiarity with Microsoft Office 365, Word, Excel, TEAMS and Dynamic Forms.
-Familiarity with Medical offices or higher education.

-Excellent interpersonal skills required and ability to interact professionally with culturally diverse individuals during a time of crisis and distress.
-Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
-Ability to show empathy to distressed individuals.
-Proficiency with computer and Microsoft office 365 application
-Adaptable at learning various software programs, i.e. Banner, Maxient, etc.

SKILLS
-Skill in prioritizing and organizing work.
-Skill in the management of files and records.
-Skill in oral and written communication.
