The School of Continuing Education and Professional Development seeks talented and passionate instructors to teach courses in Creative Arts and Leisure, including Fashion, Acting, and Visual Arts. These classes provide personal enrichment and hands-on learning for adult learners interested in exploring or deepening their creative pursuits.
What you will be doing- Teaches non-credit leisure courses in the creative arts, including fashion, acting, and the visual arts. Fosters creativity and self-expression in adult learners through hands-on instruction. Creates and implements engaging, project-based curricula in the assigned subject areaProvides instruction that fosters creativity, skill development, and self-expressionEncourages collaborative learning through discussions, critiques, and workshopsOffers individualized feedback and guidance to support student growthMaintains a supportive and inclusive learning environmentTracks student participation and outcomesIntegrates relevant software, tools, and historical/theoretical frameworks as appropriateCoordinates exhibitions, performances, or showcases when applicableMaintains instructional supplies and materialsCollaborates with program staff on course offerings and improvementsDevelops and teaches engaging, project-based lessons in designated creative subject areaCreates curriculum that promotes creative thinking and personal expressionEncourages exploration, discussion, and feedback in a supportive learning environmentAssesses student progress and provides constructive, personalized feedbackAdapts instruction to suit a wide range of creative experience levelsMaintains attendance and participation records accuratelyOrganizes exhibitions, performances, or presentations when applicableIncorporates relevant history, theory, and techniques into teachingUtilizes multimedia tools and creative software when appropriateCollaborates with peers or program leaders on course development and improvement

- Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts, Performing Arts, Fashion Design, or related field; significant professional experience may substitute.Demonstrated expertise and professional experience in the subject areaStrong communication and organizational skillsAbility to inspire and motivate adult learnersKnowledge of art/design theory, creative practices, and trends in the fieldAbility to design and implement project-based, experiential learningExcellent facilitation and presentation skills for diverse adult learnersFamiliarity with tools, materials, or software specific to the disciplineAbility to cultivate an inclusive, inspiring learning environmentUnderstanding of adult learning strategies in recreational educationStrong communication and interpersonal skillsOrganizational skills for managing studio, class, or performance logisticsCreativity, flexibility, and enthusiasm for lifelong learning
 
- Previous teaching or workshop facilitation experience preferred.
