The Part-Time Instructor provides training for students enrolled in the curriculum of the Fire Science Program (non-credit) as prescribed by Florida Department of Education (FLDOE) and Florida Administrative Code (FAC).

What you will be doing
    Provides instruction and training in classroom lectures Prepares and distributes course outline/syllabi to studentsIdentifies student requiring assistance and recommends improvements as neededAssists in the development and delivery of material and instructional lesson plansCompletes all necessary and assigned paperwork in a timely mannerMaintains academic progress and attendance rosters as assignedComplies and provides training for other staff members on policy and procedures Participates in workshops and trainings Serves on Campus committees as needed

What you need to succeed
    High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent from a regional accredited institution and six (6) years’ experience with the Fire DepartmentCurrent State certification as Fire Science InstructorSuccessful completion of an approved Fire Service Course Design classKnowledge and understanding of College organization, goals and objectives, and policies and proceduresPossess well-developed communication skills (Verbal and Written)Physical ability to perform the necessary tasks associated with the trainingAbility to work in inclement weather under adverse conditionsAbility to recognize safety hazards and take corrective actions to ensure a safe environmentAbility to positively interact with staff, students, and facultyPossess an aptitude for teaching and interest in working with studentsAbility to work a flexible schedule to include evening and weekend assignments •Ability to work well with students, faculty and staff
