Job Description

Job Summary

Provides classroom and laboratory instruction to students in Workforce Training and Continuing Education’s welding programs.

Typical Job Functions

  • Provides instruction to students and develops related instructional materials as needed (such as syllabus, lectures, course materials, evaluation tools, classroom activities, and others)
  • Instructs and evaluates students in theory and laboratory
  • Designs challenging theory and lab exercises
  • Updates syllabi as required
  • Maintains student records
  • Attends meetings as requested
  • Maintains inventory and upkeep, and updates equipment as required and feasible to stay current to industry standards\
  • Ability to work well with others
  • Self-starter Ability to motivate others Dependable
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications

    2-3 years of welding industry experienceIncumbent must reside in Idaho (Currently CEI doesn’t sponsor H-1B Visas)

Additional Desired Qualifications

Successful completion of a post-secondary welding programOver 3 years of welding industry experienceAmerican Welding Society CWI/CWE preferredTeaching experienceBilingual (Spanish)

Physical Demands:

Essential functions of this position require: manual dexterity, ability to communicate, lifting, kneeling, squatting, climbing, crawling, stooping, turning/twisting, balancing, reaching and handling with varying frequencies. Heavy work: Occasional lifting and carrying objects up to 75 pounds, Frequent lifting and carrying, pushing, or pulling objects weighing up to 50 pounds; and/or continuous lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling 10-20 pounds.

Onsite work is essential and regular predictable attendance is required. Employees may be required to work at occasional events and handle tasks outside of regular working hours.

Background Investigations:
Employment at College of Eastern Idaho will be contingent upon the successful completion of a criminal background investigation and may require a credit and/or motor vehicle background investigation depending on the position. Please refer to Policy 225: Background Checks
