Job Description
Hiring Full-Time Pastry Assistant
Michigan Shores Club is a private membership club located on Lake Michigan a short walk from the Linden Purple Line stop. We have 3 seasonal restaurants and a multi-room banquet facility. Recently awarded in 2019 one of the select Distinguished Clubs of America by Board Room Magazine.
Essential Duties, Responsibilities and Skills:
-Must be able to follow recipes, metric system and scaling
-Simplistic cake frosting/design
-Attention to detail in work as well as creatively driven
-Ability to work efficiently and meet deadlines
-Able to problem solve and work independently
-Basic skillset in preparing mousses, cookies, cake batters, bars and breakfast pastries
-This position is open to your ideas, thoughts and creativity along side the Pastry Chefs
-Collaboration in working with other chefs to create dessert menus that complement the menu and align with beverage pairings and attuned to the membership needs
-Thorough understanding of food preparation standards and kitchen hygiene and sanitation management
Overview:
Standard schedule is first shift Wednesday-Sunday with adjustment in hours based upon banquet and event needs. This is a full-time year round position.

4-5 years is preferred, experience in hotels/country clubs or similar settings is highly desired
Compensation:
$25-30/hourHealth Insurance
