The Pastry Cook is responsible for preparing a high-quality level of desserts, pastries, and other baked goods in a fast-paced kitchen environment. This role requires creativity, precision, and a strong attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ability to execute a wide range of desserts and baked goods in a timely manner under the instruction of the Executive Pastry Chef
- Ability to follow strict portioning and decorating guidelines to ensure consistent presentation when plating.
- Has excellent communication skills and can handle multiple tasks efficiently in a high-pressure, fast-moving environment.
- Has a team player mentality with a commitment to excellence and success
- Ability to maintain a clean and sanitized workstation
- Has an understanding of food safety and sanitation standards.
- Culinary training or certification in baking and pastry arts is a plus.
- Ability to stand for long periods.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
- Flexible in terms of scheduling which will include early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- 1-year prior experience working in a restaurant or commercial kitchen is preferred.
