Overview

Position Summary

The Judge Group is currently seeking a Payroll Specialist III to support our payroll manager in ensuring accurate and timely payment for employees. The successful candidate will perform various administrative tasks, including timesheet processing, wage calculation, tax processing, and report preparation. The ideal candidate should have excellent numerical and organizational skills, attention to detail, and knowledge of payroll software and regulations. Good communication and interpersonal skills are also essential, as the role involves working with different departments and levels of staff. The ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and handle confidential information with discretion is also important.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

    Assist the payroll manager in processing payroll for employees in a timely and accurate manner
  • Verify and input data from timesheets, attendance records, and other sources into the payroll system
  • Calculate wages, taxes, deductions, and other withholdings according to company policies and legal requirements
  • Issue paychecks or direct deposits to employees and distribute pay stubs or statements
  • Prepare and maintain payroll records, reports, and statements, such as tax forms, benefits summaries, and reconciliations Respond to payroll-related inquiries and requests from employees, managers, and external parties
  • Troubleshoot and resolve any payroll errors or discrepancies
  • Update employee information and payroll changes in the payroll system

Ensure compliance with payroll laws, regulations, and best practices

  • Support payroll audits and reviews by providing relevant documentation and information
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the payroll manager

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, Business Administration, or a related field
  • At least three years of experience in payroll administration or a related field
  • Proficiency in payroll software (Great Plains, Microsoft Dynamics or UKG preferred)
  • Knowledge of payroll principles, practices, and regulations
  • Excellent accounting and math skills
  • Ability to work with large amounts of data and perform accurate calculations
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
