We are looking for a detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to join our team in Stamford, Connecticut. In this Contract-to-hire role, you will play a pivotal part in ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing for both U.S. and Canadian employees, while adhering to industry standards and compliance regulations. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in payroll systems and processes, along with a commitment to delivering exceptional service.
Responsibilities:
• Process weekly, biweekly, and monthly payrolls for multiple employee groups, including commission-based payroll.
• Manage payroll operations using ADP Workforce Now for approximately 180 U.S.-based employees.
• Handle Canadian payroll for a workforce of under 100 employees, ensuring compliance with local regulations.
• Administer employee benefits in the U.S. and Canada, including 401(k) contributions and uploads.
• Perform time and attendance calculations to ensure accurate payroll data.
• Conduct background checks for new hires as part of the onboarding process.
• Maintain compliance with multi-state payroll regulations and certified payroll requirements.
• Collaborate with internal teams to address payroll discrepancies and resolve employee concerns.
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in full-cycle payroll processing.• Proficiency in ADP Workforce Now and multi-state payroll systems.
• Familiarity with Canadian payroll processes and regulations.
• Strong understanding of certified payroll and compliance requirements.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to calculate time and attendance data accurately.
• Experience with benefits administration, including 401(k) contributions.
• Effective communication skills for addressing payroll inquiries and coordinating with teams.
