Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Pipefitter to join our team at a steel fabrication facility. The role involves executing fitting duties with precision and expertise in structural steel fitting and flux core welding.

Responsibilities

• Perform fitting duties at a steel fabrication facility.
• Engage in structural steel fitting and pipefitting tasks.
• Execute flux core and tack welding operations.
• Accurately read and interpret tape measurements to the 1/16th of an inch.
• Lift and handle items weighing up to 50lbs.

Essential Skills

• 1-2 years of experience in structural steel fitting and pipefitting.
• Proficiency in flux core welding and tack welding.
• Ability to read a tape measure to the 1/16th of an inch.
• Experience with fabrication, blueprint reading, and welding techniques such as MIG and TIG.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Familiarity with using hand tools and grinding equipment.
• Knowledge of stainless steel, carbon steel, and aluminum welding.
• Understanding of AWS standards and mechanical construction.

Work Environment

Work shifts are Monday to Thursday from 6am to 4:30pm, and Friday from 5am to 1pm, with occasional Saturday shifts from 5am to 1pm. The environment is fast-paced, requiring attention to detail and a commitment to safety.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Columbia, SC.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $28.00/hr.
