Headquartered close to Tapeka, Kansas, we specialize in our natural and organic foods! We typically manufacture jellies, sauces, salsas and preserves, and have been in business for over 25 years! We are continuing to grow and expand our company at a rapid pace and would love a Plant Controller to join us!


Position Overview
The Plant Controller will be responsible for overseeing the financial operations of the food manufacturing facility. This role includes managing budgeting, forecasting, and cost accounting processes, ensuring compliance with GAAP standards, and providing insightful financial analysis to support operational decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage the annual budget and forecasting processes for the plant.
  • Conduct cost accounting practices to monitor and control expenses.
  • Perform variance analysis to identify discrepancies between budgeted and actual financial performance.
  • Oversee inventory management processes to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and coordinate audits as required.
  • Provide financial insights and reporting to plant management for operational decision-making.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support business objectives and drive profitability.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a financial management role, preferably in the food industry.
  • Strong skills in budgeting, forecasting, and cost accounting.
  • Proficient in variance analysis and inventory management techniques.
  • Experience with ERP systems and financial software.
  • Knowledge of GAAP compliance and audit coordination processes.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and teamwork skills.
