Join the Nabisco/Mondelēz Portland facility and keep the lines that produce Oreo, Chips Ahoy!, Ritz, Triscuit, Sour Patch Kids, and Swedish Fish running at their best. This is a full-time, union position in a continuous improvement environment.
What you’ll do- Diagnose and repair electrical and control issues on high-speed production and packaging equipment.
- Service and upgrade systems to 480V, including 3‑phase power, VFDs, PLCs, and related components.
- Interpret electrical schematics and execute PLC troubleshooting and programming.
- Utilize test instruments (multimeter, megger, thermography) to pinpoint faults.
- Calibrate 4–20 mA instrumentation and other low-voltage control circuits.
- Meet and maintain GMPs, health code, NEC, NFPA, and site Food Safety expectations.
- Operate equipment with coaching when needed and partner effectively in a diverse team setting.
- Oregon Journeyman Electrician License (no LME).
- High school diploma or GED.
- Preferred: 2+ years manufacturing experience; exposure to food, chemical, or pharmaceutical environments with high-speed packaging.
- Experience with Allen‑Bradley, ABB, and Foxboro platforms and devices.
- Ability to apply Lean/TPM continuous improvement tools.
- Strong problem-solving skills; effective with limited supervision.
- Read/write proficiently and communicate fluently in the site’s primary language.
- Team-oriented, inclusive mindset; collaborate well across a diverse workforce.
- Willing and able to work any shift, weekends, holidays, and overtime.
- Hourly rate: $52.54.
- Shift differentials: +$0.75/hr (2nd) and +$1.50/hr (3rd).
- Weekend premium pay: 1.5x on Saturdays; 2x on Sundays.
- Core schedule: Monday–Friday; flexibility required to cover multiple shifts and overtime.
- $5,000 sign-on bonus (paid after 90 days).
