Step into a leadership role where your expertise in prefabrication, construction, and operations management will directly impact the success of major industrial projects. As the Pipe Prefabrication Shop Manager, you'll orchestrate the work of craft professionals, subcontractors, and vendors-ensuring seamless coordination between shop and field, and driving excellence in safety, quality, and productivity.

 What You'll Own

This is a hands-on, high-impact role that blends technical oversight with strategic leadership. You'll be responsible for:

 Shop & Field Coordination
  • Manage daily operations of pipe prefabrication shops and yard maintenance
  • Serve as the key liaison between shop teams and field operations
  • Ensure prefabrication aligns with field schedules and project milestones
 Safety & Compliance Leadership
  • Champion a zero-injury culture through proactive safety programs
  • Enforce OSHA standards and conduct safety audits and incident investigations
  • Mentor craft and union supervision to uphold safety and compliance
 Production & Process Optimization
  • Review specs and staffing needs to meet project timelines
  • Monitor progress, costs, and material usage; adjust schedules as needed
  • Lead root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to reduce inefficiencies
  • Drive lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement initiatives
 Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Coordinate with engineering, planning, and operations to streamline workflows
  • Manage procurement and delivery of tools and materials
  • Resolve prefabrication challenges with inspectors, suppliers, and field teams
 Leadership & Development
  • Recruit, train, and retain top talent across craft and supervisory roles
  • Conduct performance evaluations and foster a culture of growth
  • Promote diversity and inclusion across all levels of the team
 Quality & Documentation
  • Oversee QA/QC adherence and code compliance
  • Maintain accurate documentation for labor, materials, and production metrics
  • Utilize KPIs to monitor shop performance and ensure timely delivery
 What You Bring
  • High School Diploma/GED with 11+ years in construction or manufacturing OR Associate Degree with 9+ years OR Bachelor's Degree with 7+ years
  • Proven supervisory experience in fabrication, industrial construction, or operations
  • Deep understanding of OSHA and current safety standards
  • Strong communication and leadership skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with Oracle Primavera P6 and accounting software preferred
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents and specifications
