Job Description
Principal Reporting Engineer, Business Intelligence About the Role As our Principal Reporting Engineer, you’ll shape how the enterprise sees itself. You’ll lead the design and delivery of trusted, executive-level insights that drive faster, smarter decisions — from the boardroom to the front line. This is a strategic, high-impact role responsible for building the data foundation and insight experiences that connect business performance to customer value. You’ll partner across Data Engineering, Product, GTM, and Operations to ensure that insights are accurate, accessible, and actionable — advancing our move toward AI-enabled decision workflows and embedded intelligence across the business. What You’ll Do Enterprise Intelligence Define and deliver enterprise-wide, executive, and board-ready analytics products. Build reusable semantic layers and data models that power consistent, cross-functional reporting. Establish metric certification, lineage, and definitions to ensure accuracy and trust. Operational Alignment Support the company’s operating cadence with clear, insightful dashboards. Link reporting to measurable business outcomes and customer value realization. Integrate data across GTM, Product, and Support to create closed-loop learning systems. Digital Enablement Design intuitive, frictionless insight experiences that drive adoption. Advance automation and AI-assisted analytics capabilities. Embed BI tools (e.g., Looker) directly into core business systems and workflows. Leadership & Influence Coach BI analysts and operations partners on data storytelling and best practices. Collaborate with executives to refine data needs and ensure strategic alignment. Champion governance, consistency, and a culture of insights that drive action — not dashboards that gather dust. What You’ll Bring Required Qualifications 8–12+ years in BI reporting, analytics engineering, or data product design. Deep expertise with cloud BI platforms (e.g., Looker) and SQL semantic modeling. Proven ability to deliver executive-level visual storytelling and data narratives. Strong collaboration skills with senior leaders and cross-functional teams. Experience enabling self-service analytics within a governed data environment. Preferred Qualifications Experience with SaaS business metrics (ARR, CAC, CoS, NRR, adoption, CSAT/CES). Familiarity with UX principles for analytics and reporting products. Exposure to AI-assisted BI and natural language query technologies. Understanding of modern ELT architecture and data observability practices. Why You’ll Love Working Here Impact: Your work shapes how leaders see, understand, and steer the business. Innovation: You’ll lead the evolution toward AI-driven decision-making. Visibility: Partner directly with executives and influence enterprise strategy.
