Job description:

We are seeking a skilled and thoughtful Private Chef for a highly personalized, therapeutic dietary role in Brooklyn, with regular short travels to the client’s homes in Western Massachusetts and Connecticut (few days at the time).

The chef must be highly knowledgeable in food and sourcing the best possible ingredients. A relationship with local farmers and trusted suppliers is appreciated, as the client values a deep understanding of the seasons and the origin of every ingredient. While culinary talent is important, equal weight is placed on the chef's interest in creating food that nourishes the body.

No pre-made or store-bought items should be used—the client expects a completely bespoke cooking experience with everything made from scratch.

This is a unique and rewarding opportunity for a chef who has deep knowledge of holistic nutrition and a strong grounding in sourcing and cooking with hyper-clean ingredients.

The client requires a chef who can confidently execute a strict diet focused on anti-inflammatory, low-histamine, and plant-based cooking (80–90% vegetarian).

Occasional high-quality clean proteins may be included, but only if sourcing meets the client’s high standards.

******
All meals must be made from scratch******  No pre-made or processed ingredients!

Attention to detail and ingredient authenticity is critical, as the client is highly educated on food sourcing and will notice any discrepancies.

Key responsibilities include lunch and dinner service, healthy snacks, cold-pressed juices, pantry management, and all kitchen clean-up. The chef will take full ownership of the culinary operation, from shopping and prep to execution.

The ideal chef is down-to-earth and brings a natural and calm presence to the home.
A critical component of this role is personality: the chef must be comfortable with light conversation, emotionally attuned, and supportive without being overly formal or distant.

The client works from home. There will be occasions where the chef is invited to dine together or teach recipes and techniques. The role is deeply personal and suited to someone who understands the emotional impact food can have.

While advertised as a full-time position (5 days/week, ~8 hours/day), the client is flexible for the right candidate, including the possibility of a 3–4 day/week structure.

Travel will occasionally be required for weekends to second residences (over a few days only)

Candidates should be NYC-based or able to commute easily to Brooklyn.

A driver’s license is preferred, but not mandatory. Personality fit is as important as culinary skill in this placement.
