Job Description

Senior Controls Engineer Up to $150K + 15% Bonus Potential Beautiful Eastern North Carolina Join a thriving 400+ employee production facility recognized for its strong growth, ongoing expansion, and diverse product applications that serve multiple industries. As Senior Controls Engineer, you’ll be the technical lead driving automation strategy, OT cybersecurity, and process control improvements that keep this high-performing plant operating at peak reliability and efficiency. Key Responsibilities Design and implement automation systems including DCS (Siemens PCS7 DCS), SCADA, MES, and data historians Maintain and optimize process control systems to ensure consistent product quality and plant stability Lead system upgrades and modernization to meet production and regulatory demands Embed OT cybersecurity controls into system design and daily operation Solve high-level automation and network challenges across platforms Integrate data analytics and visualization tools for enhanced process insights Standardize controls and procedures for greater reliability and consistency Provide process control input for capital projects and plant expansions Mentor junior engineers and collaborate cross-functionally with process, quality, and instrumentation teams Participate in automation on-call support rotation Maintain compliance with all safety and operational standards Qualifications BS in Controls or Electrical Engineering with 7+ years’ experience in automation and process control within manufacturing Proven expertise with Siemens TIA Portal and PCS7 DCS experience required Solid understanding of OT cybersecurity risks, best practices, and prevention Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills Familiar with ICS infrastructure, Microsoft operating systems, and networked control environments Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship Why You’ll Love This Opportunity This site is expanding, investing in new technology, and positioning itself for long-term success.
