Portland Community College (Portland, Oregon) is seeking an enthusiastic and team-oriented candidate for the in-person Print Center Production Scheduler (Graphic Design Focus) position at the Sylvania campus Print Center. Under the direction of the Print Center District Manager, the Print Center Production Scheduler is responsible for preparing estimates and charges for clients using computerized billing software, maintaining the Print Center online order website for tracking printing orders, as well as assisting clients, staff and students with printing and copying and graphic design work. Assists with operating printers and copiers, produces printed materials accurately and according to the clients specifications.
The best applicant will have a strong understanding of billing as it relates to accounts payable and receivable, graphic design (specifically getting files ready for print), and a love for customer service. The Print Center Production Scheduler is passionate about meeting the needs of faculty, students, and staff, and understands the importance of the impact of their position in meeting these objectives.
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent;
Associate’s degree or two years of training in printing, graphic art or related field. (experience performing the duties above may substitute for the degree or training on a year-for-year basis).
Two years of experience in a production environment.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
Success Criteria (these qualifications, skills and abilities are critical for success in this position. Throughout the screening process, you will be evaluated based on the demonstration of these qualifications):
- Experience with Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable processes and procedures.
- Experience with scheduling or project management
- Experience with billing software
- Strong Customer and Vendor Relations skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Basic understanding of Printing processes and procedures.
- Demonstrated experience working successfully in a culturally diverse organization with multiple locations.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in working in a high-volume office environment with frequent customer contact.
- Experience with Graphic Design programs (InDesign/Illustrator/Photoshop)
- Experience working with customers to design projects
- Experience with large format printing
- Experience with mail merge
- Experience in a production or printing environment
- Experience setting up files for print.
- Demonstrated knowledge of excel and spreadsheet creation.

How We Determine Initial Salary PlacementThe first two steps of the range are: $55,159 to $56,813 per year. Higher salary placement may be available based on qualifications, experience and internal equity. Full range: $55,159 to $88,510.
