Join our team as a Team Leader I at PGT Custom Windows and Doors! You’ll work on A Shift and play a key role in leading and supporting a team of employees to meet production goals safely, efficiently, and with top-quality results. You’ll coach, communicate, and collaborate — all while keeping our workplace running smoothly and our team motivated.
Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
• Regularly monitor team members to ensure adherence to safety policies and quality standards.
• Meet with group leaders to set daily and weekly priorities, adjusting workflows as needed.
• Prepare team schedules and approve absences or overtime to meet production needs.
• ️ Communicate clearly and effectively — both verbally and in writing — with your team and other departments.
• Serve as a key contact for Group and Team Leaders to resolve cross-department questions or concerns.
• Share important updates and feedback promptly with employees and other teams.
• Schedule and lead team meetings to ensure consistent communication.
• Provide constructive feedback (positive and corrective) to employees and document it using the Confirmation of Conversations (COC) form.
• Conduct annual performance reviews in a timely and effective manner.
• Ensure employees receive proper training to meet and exceed job expectations.
• Coach employees needing additional support or career growth opportunities.
• Monitor production processes to maintain fit, function, and appearance quality standards.
• Reinforce the use of work instructions and proper documentation at all times.
• Spend time on process improvement initiatives and visual management tools (., pitch charts).
• Work alongside your team approximately 50% of your time, leading by example.
• Participate in leadership and development training opportunities to grow your skills.

Qualifications
Qualifications
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Completion of WorkKeys and Do You Want to Be a Leader training required.
• Knowledge of PGT products and processes preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word & Excel) preferred.
• Experience with SAP/AS400 preferred.
• Two years of manufacturing experience preferred.
• Strong self-initiative and leadership potential required.
• Excellent problem-solving and prioritization skills.
• Ability to assess situations and make effective decisions.
• ️ Mechanical aptitude a plus.
