Job Description

Kanawha County Schools is now accepting applications for Professional Accountant: QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration (or similar), preferably with a concentration in Accounting inance. Three or more years work experience in accounting in either business or government. Must possess a minimum of 24 semester hours of coursework in accounting with a minimum of a 2.5 GPA as required by WVDE for the professional accountant certification. Ability to utilize Excel software for accounting and finance applications. Strong verbal and written communication skills, including telephone etiquette. Familiarity with the West Virginia Education Information System (WVEIS) a plus. Good understanding of the basic concepts of generally accepted accounting principles in connection with a double-entry accounting system.
