Job Description Summary / TWC Summary:JOB SUMMARY:
The Program Coordinator II P20CURED plans, executes, and improves day-to-day operations of P20 CURED with moderate independence. This role manages calendars and workflows, coordinates partners and events, tracks budgets and deliverables, and uses data to drive continuous improvement. Ideal for a detail-oriented, relationship-driven operator who can turn strategy into reliable execution.

The Program Coordinator II P20 CURED is knowledgeable of current public health trends that can be developed into programs implemented at both the individual and community level.
This is a Grant funded position.
P20 CURED Cancer Research Education Program (40%)
- Cultivates and maintains relationships for recruitment of P20 CURED scholars
- Engagement and onboarding support (at TSU and BCM) for scholars in the P20 CURED program
- Provides day to day and hands on support for P20 CURED Scholars during summer research experience at TSU and BCM
- Coordinates and tracks deliverables of P20 CURED Scholar
- Supports cancer research education program curriculum development
- Develops and implements Community Engagement and Outreach for the P20 CURED program
- Prepare materials, set-up, plans, and implements outreach events and networking activities
- Serves as direct contact for the P20 CURED program
Administrative (~30%)
- Maintain accurate event calendar and communicate event details with the team
- Coordinate/schedule outreach events, team meetings, steering committee meetings, collaborator meetings, luncheons, seminars, webinars, conferences, and travel plans
- Prepares meeting agendas, reserves rooms and facilities, and distributes minutes of meetings
- Initiate and completes agreements for speakers, consultants, and professional service providers
- Compiles all data required for progress report
- Maintains program website and social media platforms
Financial (~15%)
- Orders and maintains supplies and outreach materials for grant funded programs
- Tracks and reconciles expenditure for grant funded programs
- Initiates requisitions, tracks purchase orders and ensures timely payments of all invoices
- Compiles all data required for financial report
Health promotions, Community Engagement, and Outreach (~15%)
- Cultivate and maintains relationships to advance health outcomes on grant funded programs
- Facilitates and implements Community Based Participatory Research methods
- Plans, supports, and attends health education and outreach events to community members
- Prepare materials, set-up, plans, implements, and participates in outreach events, seminars, conferences, and networking activities

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Skill in:
- Demonstrated skills in a variety of educational presentations, discussion, and facilitation
- Demonstrated skills in computer software applications (e.g., Microsoft outlook, Teams, office 365)
- Supervisory skills to effectively manage student staff or volunteers
- Quantitative and qualitative research skills or willingness to learn skills (e.g., research design, survey development, community engagement studios/focus group design and facilitation, data analysis and interpretation, etc.)
- Professional writing, publications, and/or presentations or willingness to learn skill
- Detail oriented, Problem-solving, decision-making, multitasking and time management
- Excellent communication, both verbal and written, with strong public speaking skills
- Demonstrated experience in effective conflict management and resolution
Ability to:
- Ability to learn and adapt to new processes and adhere to organizational objectives
- Able to work in a team and produce quality output under tight deadlines
- Ability to work independently, collaboratively, and exercise sound judgment
- Travel locally, regionally and nationally to community engagement and outreach events, programs, activities or conferences related to job function with cost reimbursable under grant funding
- Ability to maintain the security or integrity of critical infrastructure, which may include communications systems, computer networks and systems, cybersecurity systems, electrical grids, hazardous waste treatment, or water treatment systems.
One (1) to four (4) years.
Working/Environmental Conditions:In-office setting with some local travel within the greater Houston area is expected (~20%) with mileage reimbursement
